[ warnings ] Duzell being an imp?
He didn’t know who was themastermind idiot behind bringing all these people here to this world, but clearly, the end goal was to piss him off.
There were too many people to get back at, but he had a good amount of time. He was supposed to be an instructor, but usually blew it off. He would much rather earn raks through fighting than pretend to have patience with a group of misfit lowlifes.
While one of his most annoying adversaries was asleep against a tree, the kyawl darted up to a branch, and crept toward the beehive dangling from the bottom. Once he was close enough, he stretched out a paw and started batting at it, purposely aggravating the bees inside. The beehive was conveniently positioned over the head of the little wiseass sleeping below. He shouldn’t have been slacking off, so Duzell was just helping him wake up, really.
Who was going to blame an innocent cat for being curious?

Date: 2012-06-08 07:13 pm (UTC)She disliked fighting and fighting only made her even more tired. She wasn't cut out for it but she would be willing to try until she couldn't try anymore. Ishtar rolled over the bed before finally shoving the sheets off and pulling on some simple clothes before she strolled her way into the field. It was a nice calming place for her once in a while. She continued to silently walked along the path wondering what her vampire was up to.
The vampire turned cat seemed to be having a lot of fun in her absence. She hadn't spotted him in the tree yet.

Date: 2012-06-08 07:28 pm (UTC)He kept pawing at the beehive, all the while thinking how much easier it would be to just zap the tree branch with fire or lightning. It sucked that he couldn’t use any of his magic spells here. But then again, it would have been overkill. He already could kill most of the humans with little effort. If they didn’t have their precious weapons to protect them, then they would be even easier to eliminate.
Snap!
The twig holding the beehive to the branch finally broke, sending it falling down toward the ground. The beehive hit the man on the head, and then split open next to him. Swarms of bees burst out of their hive and buzzed angrily around who they thought to be the culprit.
As he yelled and cursed and eventually ran away, the kyawl rolled around the tree branch, way too amused by the hysterics.

Date: 2012-06-08 08:05 pm (UTC)Poor bastard. She raised a brow and immediately caught the sight of their culprit. She just sighs. Yes, what was there to say? He was off to his own little mischievous world. The vampire cat was just going torment humans as much as he felt like it. She couldn't really complain. He seemed frustrated in the last couple of days that she had spoken with him.
She walks over to the tree and swiftly started climbing it while calling his name. She had done this a million times. There was no reason to why she would get hurt climbing a tree. At least not in her logic at the moment.
"Duzie there you are!"

Date: 2012-06-11 07:55 pm (UTC)He turned those big innocent cat eyes on her and just meowed, sounding completely normal. He wasn’t about to explain his actions to Ishtar – he didn’t have to. She might not have known what crap some of the other humans had put him through, but he felt damn justified in knocking them down a few pegs. He had to get the stupid bat back too, and his former, utterly useless weapon. While he didn’t expect any loyalty from the idiot, he hadn’t counted on her being deadweight either. He should have just left her somewhere to rot, instead of wasting energy to tote around the damn worthless thing.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:02 pm (UTC)She raised a brow.
"Duzie....what just happened?" she mused. It was hard to talk to him as he was right now but she didn't mind. She got used to understanding his reasons for not speaking and understanding cat speech so to say. Duzell was so cold to people sometimes. They must have their reasons for doing it. She didn't really approve of his coldness towards people but it was Duzell she couldn't help it.
"Duzie c'mere," she mused opening her arms for the cat to get to her. It would better to talk on the floor.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:11 pm (UTC)He played coy for a little while, acting like a cat in its true nature. Pretending that he didn’t know what Ishtar wanted from him, and even if he did, why should he obey her? His butt stayed planted to the branch as he lifted a paw and casually licked it, brushing the fur all in the same direction.
Finally, after he was done with that, he looked at the princess, tilted his head, and then bound forward, paws bouncing along the thick tree branch. Her arms were soon covered with fur as the kyawl perched comfortably over her shoulder. He meowed again just then, without really saying anything. He could garble up a bunch of nonsensical words to confuse Ishtar, if he felt like it.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:18 pm (UTC)"Aw c'mon Duzie, I really can't move that much with you all the way up here," she replied as she looked at him. That was sudden. She let out a small oof when the cat landed on her shoulder. She just petted his head briefly, "Jeez, Duzie you really know how to make an entrance," she replied continuing to pet him.
She slowly brought him off of her shoulder and into her lap. She let her feet kind of danger from the branches as she sustained her position there. He could and she would be so terribly confused.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:25 pm (UTC)He meowed into her ear, and this time, he actually made his speech distinguishable to her magical senses, “(Don’t fall, princess.)”
It probably wasn’t a very good idea to be so close to her neck, he realized, as she started to climb down the tree. Hopefully, she wouldn’t lose her grip and go crashing down on the ground, squishing him under her. The vampire was hungry after going so long without eating, and Ishtar was starting to look tasty. He peeled his lips back and suddenly hissed at her, baring his fangs, for no particular reason.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:31 pm (UTC)Ishtar just chuckled, "You know I have cat like reflexes. I won't fall so easily," she grinned as she finally leaped onto the floor when she was close enough. She just watched as he suddenly started hissing at her, "Hey...Duzie...hey!" she was a little worried, "What's wrong?" she mused as she pushed him off her shoulders and into her arms.
She didn't quite get why he was hissing at her and why he seemed a little preoccupied.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:39 pm (UTC)He rolled his big catlike eyes at hearing her claim. If she was really that agile, then she would be able to avoid some of her predicaments. Now, if only she could have intelligence that was just as high… Or maybe some common sense, which the princess obviously lacked, at a severe level.
“(The food here is disgusting.”) He complained; it helped with the hunger sometimes, especially red meat, but it was no real contest when compared to real human blood. He hissed at her again, starting to view the girl as prey. It would be pretty easy for him to trick someone into letting his or her guard down long enough to sneak in a bite, but Ishtar was holding onto him pretty tightly. He wouldn’t be able to leave unless she let go of him.

Date: 2012-06-11 08:50 pm (UTC)"Hey it's not too bad. I mean some of it tastes like cardboard but it's all we got. Maybe I can try to find you some milk or something," she replied. A fruit maybe? Ishtar still kept her firm grip on him as he struggled to get away from her, "Duzie what's wrong? What are you trying to do now?" she frowned.
It was like how it happened the first time she tried to run off with him and they ran into Yujinn. He ran off.

Date: 2012-06-11 09:30 pm (UTC)A cat’s instinct, when confronted by an enemy, was to bite and scratch! Which was exactly what he did, with Ishtar scrambling to get him under control. His claws dug into her arm, along with his tiny fangs, drawing blood from the poor defenseless girl.

Date: 2012-06-11 09:38 pm (UTC)Ishtar just sighed as she tried to control her cat and of course that had to result in being scratched and bitten again!
"DUZIE! Ow stop it!" she's surprised that he was being really aggressive, "Jeez, what's gotten into you!" she mused trying to control the pain from being bit by her cat. Of course, she could tell he wasn't intentionally doing it, so eventually just relaxes and lets him continue to keep his fangs there, "You hungry or something?"
no subject
Date: 2012-06-12 02:20 pm (UTC)The cat’s natural aggression had easily slipped in with his own, merging together to make him even more vicious. Acting civil and behaving properly – those required effort to maintain. If he went with his basic instincts, like he did just now, he tended to react on reflex.
He hadn’t gotten enough blood from just the one bite, but he pulled out his tiny fangs to growl in reply, “(There are some sacks of meat I have to bite. Don’t start preaching me about how they’re helpless and I should be merciful toward them. They’re idiots, and they deserve what’s coming to them.)”

Date: 2012-06-12 10:23 pm (UTC)Ishtar just stared at the puncture holes in her hand now. Seriously, he could have just told her he was hungry instead of biting her aggressively. She pets his head softly, "Hey, that's not a way you should be treating people. It's not nice at all Duzie. I'm pretty sure they're willing to give you their blood if you ask them you know?" she replied after a pause, "Or you can tell me that you're hungry. That way you didn't have to bite me so angrily trying to get away," she frowned raising her arm a bit.
"You know I don't mind giving you some if you really need it."

Date: 2012-06-14 02:30 pm (UTC)He paused in the licking to look up at the princess with a flat stare. “(What makes you think I wanna be nice to these maggots? They’re arrogant lowlifes that shoot their mouths off without a care in the world. They don’t have anything to back up all their big talk.)”
…Well, now. He had to make an excuse as to why he didn’t want her blood. “(There are other vampires here. Are you gonna offer your blood to them too?)”
no subject
Date: 2012-06-14 09:44 pm (UTC)"I'm not saying you should be nice. You know what I mean......" she replied looking quietly at the cat again. She continued to stroke his fur with her strong arm.
"....Jeez, can you just take it? I mean blood is blood right? You need it. Why bring other questions into it Duzie?" she replied giving him a flat look for that comment. Though,s he would too if anyone needed it. Though, it had to be a good reason for it of course.

Date: 2012-06-15 01:43 pm (UTC)“(No, I don’t know what you mean.)” He shot back impudently in low hisses. Even in his cat form, he was trying to seem intimidating, despite knowing that Ishtar never felt any fear toward him.
He was going to be a difficult pain in the ass (sorry, Ishtar) and just stare right back at her, unanswering. The two were sometimes matched in stubbornness. The princess, being dense as she was, and Duzell, being not at all expressive about his true feelings, would clash together or run around in circles before they finally got to the root of the problem.
Duzell drew his lips back and hissed at her again. He was still hungry; the little bite hadn’t done much to satisfy his bloodlust.

Date: 2012-06-22 08:22 pm (UTC)"I mean if you treat them a little better maybe they won't be such assholes to you," she replied frowning. Hell if he didn't know what she was talking about. They were opposites in lots of ways so it was understandable if they didn't see eye to eye.
"Seriously. Stop hissing at me," she replied tightening her grip on him. He was small delicate and fragile cat right now. Ishtar had the upper hand until he decided to change forms on her, "Just take it Duzie, you've looked a little pale for a couple days too," she quietly added.

Date: 2012-06-22 09:28 pm (UTC)“(I didn’t provoke them.)” He replied indignantly, and he really hadn’t! “(Why the hell should I make the effort to be nice to them?)” She must be crazy. He didn’t ask for them to mouth off to him, or be such irritatingly annoying smartasses. He’d sooner run into a Holy spell than lower himself to being submissive toward those unruly humans.
Damn it, she was really starting to restrict his movement now. Maybe he should bite her again…
“(I haven’t drank any blood since we were first forced here.)” He grumbled, not even sure himself why he hadn’t just attacked some random humans for their blood, or charming it from them. He had mostly kept to himself, except for the occasional post to the network using that strange PDA thing.

Date: 2012-06-24 05:42 am (UTC)"Well then I guess it can't be helped if you're a little cold towards those guys then...if they're the one starting things with you and all," she mused quietly. That seemed about right. Duzell was that kind of person. She couldn't deny that one.
"Then you should just take some more of my blood. It might help you, Duzie."
She didn't think that there should be a problem. Blood was blood. He bit her before so it didn't really matter if she got bitten again.

Date: 2012-06-25 01:42 pm (UTC)She hadn’t scared him, and he told her outright that he didn’t have to play by their rules. She countered that by claiming she knew enough about him to make him hurt, which he again, had disregarded. It wasn’t until the girl had dropped subtle hints toward hurting Ishtar, that he finally felt an inkling of hesitation, though he made sure not to show it. Ishtar was much weaker than him, and he didn’t want to be responsible for her dying. It was would just be… too much of a hassle to deal with, really.
The kyawl casually yawned, and then retorted, “(You might faint, if I took what I wanted from you.)” His tail swished back and forth, repeatedly brushing over her arm.

Date: 2012-06-27 08:21 pm (UTC)"Hah? Well, I hope she has that stuff to back her up with that claim," she mused patting his head, "You sure had to deal with a lot of crap huh?"
With that said she hugged him against her chest. Ishtar would find that cowardly. Instead of taking someone one fairly, they decided to use other people's weaknesses as a threat. She didn't like people like that at all.
"I'm not gonna faint, just do what ya gotta do Duzie," she replied with a smile. She poked his tail maybe once or twice since it was kind of fun to play with.

Date: 2012-06-27 08:41 pm (UTC)He had definitely looked at the human girl as if she was a complete idiot. She really didn’t know her place. Unfortunately, she had a little bit of leverage over him, by using Ishtar as bait. That annoyed the hell out of him. Even though he couldn’t do anything right now, he made a mental note to make the brazen idiot pay for her insolence, the first chance he got. It would be different if Ishtar was the one to challenge him, but it wasn’t like he would let her walk all over him either.
“(She knows something. I just need to figure out what.)” There had to be an intentional reason he and Ishtar were separated at the beginning, especially considering they came from the same world.
His fur pressed against her small frame; she felt warm. He wasn’t used to affection, not like this. He just tolerated it for Ishtar, because he knew that even if he protested, she wouldn’t stop trying to glomp him or play with him whenever he was in feline form. Duzell glowered and curled his nimble tail around her finger, trapping it for a few seconds. “(Trying to save those pathetic little weaklings, Isthar?)”

Date: 2012-06-27 08:55 pm (UTC)She sighed, not like she could say much else to calm the vampire king down. He was clearly in a sour mood right note. Ishtar never liked people using others as a shield. She always thought it was cowardly and Lassen did it so often that she really was disgusted by those kinds of actions.
"Well work your magic on her, maybe she'll start saying the truth....too bad we can't use any magic here. A truth spell would do the trick," she replied with a faint smile. Ishtar was always like this with him, despite knowing what he was she still cared about him. He was becoming more like family to her than anything else and didn't want to see harm come his way.
"Nah, just wanting to make sure you're in tip top shape to take care of the stupid people. In a way I'm kind of protecting you from them. I think it's better this way for you. Less work right?"
no subject
Date: 2012-07-11 01:44 pm (UTC)Of course, he wasn’t stupid enough to tell her something like that. He didn’t know about Lassen at this moment in time, but he knew enough of her family to reaffirm his belief that humans were insane. They weren’t as dangerous as vampires in terms of power, but excelled in other areas – like mental degeneration.
In his cat form, he couldn’t grumble, so he settled for a vicious hiss instead. If he could use magic, the stupid girl wouldn’t even be an issue for him. He would have just killed her, the moment she started making threats toward Ishtar. “(Like a truth spell is something I’d waste on her.)”
He didn’t answer; he kept playing with her finger, batting at it like a cat tugging on a ball of yarn. He was definitely hungry, and the princess looked very tasty.
no subject
Date: 2012-07-11 08:15 pm (UTC)She replied shrugging, "and well can't say I'm completely fearless," she trailed off.
Humans are good at that, and apparently people like Lassen can even control certain vampires to an extent, while messing with their minds. He's the kind of guy that you wouldn't really mess around with, unless you knew what you were up against.
"Hahah, but you could get information faster is all. You know, like tell her to give you detailed descriptions of everything,' she grinned while patting him.
Ishtar didn't seem to feel the pain anymore as he was playing with her finger, "You know, seriously, just bite it," she looked down at him. He was obviously hungry and still in her arms.
