“(Some morons are just too stupid to be afraid.)” He didn’t necessarily think Ishtar was a moron, but she did act stupid sometimes. She also didn’t harbor a single ounce of fear toward him.
He had definitely looked at the human girl as if she was a complete idiot. She really didn’t know her place. Unfortunately, she had a little bit of leverage over him, by using Ishtar as bait. That annoyed the hell out of him. Even though he couldn’t do anything right now, he made a mental note to make the brazen idiot pay for her insolence, the first chance he got. It would be different if Ishtar was the one to challenge him, but it wasn’t like he would let her walk all over him either.
“(She knows something. I just need to figure out what.)” There had to be an intentional reason he and Ishtar were separated at the beginning, especially considering they came from the same world.
His fur pressed against her small frame; she felt warm. He wasn’t used to affection, not like this. He just tolerated it for Ishtar, because he knew that even if he protested, she wouldn’t stop trying to glomp him or play with him whenever he was in feline form. Duzell glowered and curled his nimble tail around her finger, trapping it for a few seconds. “(Trying to save those pathetic little weaklings, Isthar?)”
